Furbabies are special here
La Quinta by Wyndham MobileI have multiple stays at this location and each time it is consistently great. All of the pups are on two floors of the hotel and managed quite well. This is our go to spot on our route from Florida to Texas. This is a midpoint stop on my way to Houston and each time the staff has been great and the rooms are clean and perfect for a one night stay. The front rooms tend to be more loud because they are next to the highway, so ask for a back of the building room if you need more quiet to sleep. Green space for doggies in the front and the back with baggies for poopsies! Very reasonably priced and Cleo enjoyed the Jimmy Dean Biscuit breakfast.
Nice room, pet friendly
Candlewood Suites Pensacola - University Area an IHG HotelOk, so the ugly. I booked thru BringFido and wow what a cluster it was when I arrived at the hotel. They did not have my correct room and they were sold out of the room that I wanted . They told me to not book via Bringfido/Travelocity or whatever he said again. The manager said just call the hotel and book because they keep having issues with third party booking. Huh??? No dog treats-no problem-we brought our own.
The area itself has a lot of people that are panhandling during the day and appear to be homeless, but nowadays they could just be tax cheaters, they were not near the hotel and it was not concerning. You can’t go anywhere without panhandling people. The strip mall next to the hotel is not really a shop-able strip mall so don’t bother. The good stuff: the hotel is very clean and so was the room. Also the hotel was quiet and there was plenty of green area for taking your dog potty. All of the staff seemed very happy and friendly towards my very beautiful poodle. Air conditioning was on point cause it was hot as hell outside! Lots of sand around so watch out for the sand spurs that your furbaby can pick up in Florida. You will know it when they start picking up a foot all of a sudden. We tried to book here on our way back but they were sold out. The biggest ugly thing about the hotel is the price. This hotel is the most expensive in the area and really has no extra amenities. It lost a bone because of no treats and the whole check in snafu which really irked me. I know hotels hold back rooms so really???
Dog friendly but dirty room
Sleep Inn and Suites Panama City BeachYes this is a dog friendly hotel, but that is about the best that can be said about the hotel. The sheets had a stain meaning not sure what the heck was on it, and I found a sand bur on one of the pillow cases. Those sand burs are like needles and had I rolled over on that I would have done severe damage to my face. The floor had not been vacuumed well and the floor board area had all sorts of debris. The floor length mirror had oily smudges all over it and there was some sort of white paint or stuff of some sort (I did not touch it) all along the box spring area of each of the beds.
The mattresses felt like they had been purchased from some $59 discount mattress warehouse outlet, so a good nights sleep - you can forget that. I did check for bed bugs and did not see any of those, nor did I see any roaches but don’t quote me. Housekeeping did not leave a plastic liner in the ice bucket so who needs ice anyway.
The dog friendly room was on the first floor and so was the loud music from the buildings pumped in from a station or whatever they were playing. The neighborhood is very iffy and when I mean iffy I mean don’t walk your dog alone. There are no tell motels around the vicinity and quite the array of characters floating around. Lock your car for sure or you might not have a car or anything else when you wake up. I got up, got dressed and got the hell out of there. No shower, no free breakfast (crap stuff anyway) and told the front desk clerk of my issues and showed her the pictures. All she said was “I sorry”. This is not a corporate-owned location. This is owned by someone in New Jersey.
Cleo loved her stay
Holiday Inn Baton Rouge College Drive I-10 an IHG HotelNice accommodation, pet friendly, unfortunately the pet parents that stay here do not pick up the poo from their dogs so there are land mines all over the property. No treats for the pups at check in. I suggested to the GM that he make swag bags with plastic bags and encourage owners to pick up after their pets. Very nasty as the property is also not picking up the dookie. The night we stayed we had no heat so we were offered extra blankets instead of another room??? The next morning GM apologized and gave us enough points for another nights stay at a different Holiday Inn. He was very apologetic. The room was very clean and nice and Cleo was happy and that was fine.
Aloft Houston Galleria!
Aloft Houston by the GalleriaFantastic stay and Cleo says this is definitely 5 bones and 4 paws up! Everyone is so friendly here and lots of green space for doggy business and a nice block to walk around for exercise. Beds were cozy and treats at the front desk when we checked in. We will definitely return according to Cleo.
