Overpriced for outdated rooms

The hotel was very close to Central Park, Columbus Circle, 5th ave shopping, Moma .... The rooms were very outdated. Furniture looked old, some mold around the bath, nailed shut cupboard that probably used to have a fridge in it (no fridge), broken ice machines on multiple floors. Add to that the fact that there was an extra $40 charged as “destination fees”, which is apparently a new type of fee that has started to appear on some NYC hotel bills. So if you’re choosing this hotel, be aware that a hotel that does not charge destination fees that costs a little more could actually be much nicer and better value for money in the end. The dog was happy, but he would be happy almost anywhere with us.
