Not Dog Friendly as They Claim

I’m giving this tavern a 2 star review even though we never got a chance to eat there. We took a day trip from Hendersonville where we live, and brought our dogs. We were looking forward to having lunch on their dog friendly patio overlooking the river. When I couldn’t figure out how to get to the patio, I went inside and asked. I was told that we had to go across the street, climb down the bank to the river, go under the bridge, climb back up the other bank to the stairs to the patio. I couldn’t believe it- I’ve never encountered anything like this before! Nevertheless, I climbed down the bank and found that the river was lapping up against the bridge wall. The only way to get to the other side was to wade through what looked to be at least 6 or more inches of water! So I went back inside to tell the girl and she was apologetic. She said dogs couldn’t go through the restaurant because of Health Dept. restrictions which I completely get. She also said the owner should try to find another way to get to the patio because they are losing business. We ended up going next door to Mosaic and had a great lunch so Spring Creek Tavern lost out. If the Spring Creek owner wants patrons who have dogs, he needs to find another way for those people to get to his patio. It’s beyond ridiculous the way they have it now.
