Great stay
Alpine Inn & SuitesUnique place with a cool motel setup. Rooms were nice and clean, comfortable beds and friendly staff, especially the guy at the front desk. Pet policy is a bit strict - no dogs allowed on the bed or any furniture. As any dog owner knows, if your dog is used to getting on the furniture it’s nearly impossible to keep them off. A better policy might be to provide covers for the chairs and a dedicated pet sheet for the bed if there is a dog in the room. Overall a great place to stay though.

Tons of extra fees
Holiday Inn Peterborough-Waterfront ON an IHG HotelDecent hotel. Right on the river so it’s a nice walk along the water. What ruined our stay was the crazy loud wedding guests in the hall until 3am that kept our dog on edge and growling all night (not really the hotel’s fault). What is the hotel’s fault - the overpriced, mediocre restaurant food and the amount of extra fees. Maybe some are municipal fees and beyond the hotel’s control, but a $50 pet/cleaning fee for a basic, linoleum-floored room? Come on.
