Friendly staff, but housekeeping not the best

The staff here are friendly and nice. The management has made some attempts to update the units. We had a King bed suite which had a separate bedroom, living room, kitchenette and 2 full bathrooms. The unit had a brand new refrigerator, range and looked like the toilets were newish. There was also new looking tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. Unfortunately the housekeeping here is very lacking. There were dead bugs on the furniture and in and around the toilets was messy. I had read a similar review prior to going but had non cancellable reservations so I brought bathroom cleaner and cleaned the bathrooms on arrival. I also had my dogs with me and there was a strong pest repellant smell as well as some type of powder strewn around the carpet. We ended up checking out early due to the lack of cleanliness. The management was apologetic but with all the similar reviews about the housekeeping you will find online it is a shame they haven't found a solution.
