Must keep dog on leash
Twin Lakes State BeachI was thrown off when one of the reviews mentioned their dog running on the beach. To be clear, this beach only allows dogs on-leash. The lifeguard will remind you of this fact although they admit that they cannot enforce it which I believe they mean they can’t write you a ticket. After driving from the east bay, finally getting parking and carrying all our stuff and toddler close to the water (ok it’s not that far but we had a lot of stuff for the day) we decided not to leave for another beach even though we were pretty disappointed we couldn’t have our well behaved dog off-leash. When asked, the lifeguard said nearby “Its” beach allows dogs off leash so check that out instead if that’s what you were hoping for. The beach is perfectly nice for humans, soft sand, saw dolphins, not crowded on a Friday.

Discovery Dog ParkLots of homeless people and trash everywhere. Didn't feel comfortable by myself there.
