Very noisy

Campfire Hotel

The hotel was very noisy. It seems to be a hot spot for loud gatherings by their outside firepit. The hotel itself adds to the noise by broadcasting music from loudspeakers placed around the outside areas. The "pet area" outside was a postage-stamp-sized bit of dead grass. The room itself was fine. The hotel has a quieter annex across the street that would have suited us better. The hotel also charges a $100 security deposit upon check-in, which is refunded 3 days after checkout.

OK but nothing special

Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtowner

The hotel was OK but nothing special. They charged $20 per pet per night, so for our two dogs we paid $40 extra per night. The "pet area" was neglected and full of dog poop. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Third floor room

Extended Stay America Suites - Santa Rosa - North

When traveling with our two small dogs, we always request a ground floor room. Frequent potty breaks are needed, and it is much more convenient to be on the ground floor. When we arrived at this hotel, we were told that their ground floor rooms had been "sold out for months," despite our request for one at the time we made the reservation. We were put in a third floor room, down a long hallway, up two flights of stairs or the even more scary elevator, then down another long hallway to the room. When I pointed out to the reservation clerk the inconvenience to us and the stress on our dogs, she graciously cancelled the dog fee. However, I wish we would have been told at the time of making the reservation that no ground floor rooms would be available. We could have then considered a different lodging option.

Frustrating Experience

Clarion Pointe Medford

Upon arrival, our requested ground floor room was not available, though I had reconfirmed the day before. They seemed to have trouble locating another suitable room for us, leaving us waiting in the lobby. After a long wait, they did end up putting us in a suite, but on the 2nd floor, not the ground floor. The card key readers to the outside doors and to the rooms are old and unreliable. It was frustrating to have to insert your card 10 to 15 times before the door would open. One time we could not get into our room and had to find a staff member to come open it. We were told that management refuses to replace the card readers, though many guests have complained about them. The room walls are not insulated well, so it was very noisy. We could hear every word our noisy neighbors said, plus our room was right above the enclosed swimming pool on the ground floor, so noise all afternoon from that source, too.
