Dog Poop in Room

After checking in, our first step through the door with the dogs was met with harsh questioning. "You do know there's a $10 per pet per night pet fee right?" We responded, "Yes." "And have you paid it?" We responded, "Yes." "I'm fixin' to go check." To be fair, we aren't 100% certain this woman worked for the hotel, but given her mentioning the pet fee and the rude interrogation-like berating, it appeared she did.

Upon getting into the room, we found a dog turd from a small dog barely under the armchair. We're extremely lucky our dogs didn't get a hold of it. I picked it up with toilet paper and flushed it down the toilet because, given our rude welcome, I didn't feel like telling the staff.

We didn't have a do-not-disturb sign, so we made our own. Every single night we returned to the hotel, our room key didn't work and we had to get it reactivated. So, having the dogs with us, we had to return them to the car, get the key working, and then haul them back to the room again.

The room was dirty aside from the dog poop also, with caked on dust and what appeared to be a quick clean to the most visible parts of the room, neglecting all other areas.

The staff outside of the rude woman from the moment we walked in the door were all very pleasant. I understand the staff is probably under-paid and they don't have jobs I envy, but the cleaning staff's work doesn't even meet the low standard of trashy hotel level service. I'm beyond irritated that I had to pay $60 in pet fees, when that money most certainly doesn't go towards a more thorough cleaning of pet-inhabited rooms.
