Good location for humans, not for dogs

Check in was a wreck. We planned a one day trip as a mental getaway and it was ruined by their slow service. Check in was at 3, we got there at 2:45 with a line already formed outside the door. By 4:30 we got to the desk just for them to tell us to come back because the rooms weren't cleaned. We didn't know how to kill time without a place to change for the beach or anywhere safe to put out belongings. We had to drive around for 2 more hours, miss the daylight, and came back to ANOTHER line that was even longer than before. Eventually we got our room but our trip was shot. We only had about 3 hours of daylight in the morning before check out so we couldn't even get to the dog beach and back to our room for showers in time to leave. It was a very disappointing trip and a waste of money. Did not spend enough time at the motel to even rate it because of the service.
The dog beach is actually down the road and we never did find it.
