Best dog park in the city
Cabrini PlaygroundAfter having been to many if not most parks in New Orleans, I believe this one to be the best. Spacious and enclosed, it is perfect for dogs both social and shy. I have been taking my rescue dogs here for years and it has done wonders to socialize and blossom them into their best selves. Only complaint is park closes at 6p in winter/spring which IMO is too early.
Friendly and high quality grooming
Bel Air Pet CareI took my pomeranian-yorkie mix here for years and always got great service. On the border of the Marigny and Bywater, it's perfectly located for my neighborhood.
Two dog parks in one
NOLA City BarkA lovely enclosed space with an area for big dogs and another for little ones. Getting a permit for access is worth it if you don't mind the hassle and the drive.
Small but nice
Crescent Park Dog RunA fenced in enclosure with a double gate. Long and narrow, hence a "run". Despite its size I've never seen it crowded and I go there regularly. Lovely view of the river, especially in the late afternoon.
Delicious neighborhood institution since 1938
Buffa'sGreat food, cool staff, awesome location, dog-friendly. Be sure to try their house-made hot sauces.
Dog bar hall of fame
Pepp's PubOne of New Orleans's most dog-friendly bar, it is named after the owners dog Pepper who is often lounging around. Bring your pup and their pic will be taken by a polaroid and added to the Dog Hall Of Fame on the wall.
Perfect Marigny location
Who Dat Coffee CafeGreat location, great food, so-so staff. Hours are somewhat erratic but worth it if open.
Delicious but elusive
French ToastFriendly staff and good food, but closes terribly early. Set an alarm!
Neighborhood icon
Morning Call Coffee StandThis historical neighborhood spot has plenty of outside seating and excellent brew.
My favorite
Chi-wa-wa Ga-gaA small but well stocked store run by a lovely English woman who goes above and beyond. Highly recommended.
Great selection
NOLA Bark MarketA quirky neighborhood shop, groomer, and art supply store. Huge selection of dog and cat food.
Nice little spot
Southern PawsGreat dog treats. Store is a touch cramped and prices are higher than the nearby competition.
Historical and fun
The Driskill in the Unbound Collection by HyattA wonderful old school hotel that loves dogs. Best bar in Austin, too.
Great brunch spot in the heart of the triangle
HornsGreat brunch spot in the heart of the Marigny triangle. Outside seating on both sides. Walking distance to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street.
