We enjoy traveling in our RV across our beautiful country and are never without our two dogs, Timber, a Berger Blanc Suisse and Dixie, a Tri-colored Australian Shepherd.

Good service but....

The Blu Pig

We had been on the road all day when we rolled into the Blu Pig, hungry, tired & dog in tow.
🦴So nice to find a dog friendly restaurant!
The outdoor covered, screened patio is large with about 10-12 tables set a comfortable distance between them.
🦴We experienced quick, attentive service & a bowl of ice water for our pup. Great start!
I ordered a Turkey, Bacon & Swiss w/ a side of baked sweet potato. My husband ordered the 3 Pulled Pork Taco appetizer, a cup of Gumbo Soup with a glass of sweet tea. The Gumbo Soup, he said, was excellent, the Tacos were good, the amount of meat was on the skinny side (maybe a tablespoon per taco). I found my sandwich disappointing

Great Stay!

La Quinta by Wyndham Twin Falls

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome!
The front desk staff were extraordinary! Cheerful & helpful, they changed our original room reservation to a ground floor room, accommodating us better.
At check-in we were offered a map to a local dog park (also a 5 bone review!). We were informed of the drink offerings in the lobby for purchase & told of the time for the morning breakfast.
Our room (#130) was clean and surprisingly quite large!
Breakfast was standard hotel fair but the service was above and beyond!
Our only cons:
1) Very limited dog walking & grassy space surrounding the the building. There is a fair amount of open hard space, i.e., parking area with a side walk in front of a busy main road to exercise your dog. I recommend if you have 30 min. or more, go to Baxter’s Dog Park.
2) We prefer a composite floor vs carpet in our room... easier to sanitize & our dogs don’t spend the first 30 minutes we are there sniffing the floor. Next time La Quinta upgrades the rooms this would be our vote.
All said, this La Quinta and all it’s employees earn a Five Bone review and we would return here again.

Best Dog Park

Baxter's Dog Park

After a week of 500+ mile days in a Jeep, our two big dogs needed some space to run! This park was recommended by our BringFido hotel and was more than we had hoped for! At least an acre of grassy space, divided into three large sections by well maintained chain link fencing with shade trees, benches & picnic tables, it is the best dog park we have ever visited! We arrived early (8am) and were the only ones in the park. by the time we left three other dogs and their owners arrived. Plenty of off street parking and clean public restrooms on site. A blue ribbon dog park!

Best Brunch & Bring the Dogs

Tupelo Honey Cafe

After several long days of being on the road we were excited to enjoy a lovely, relaxing brunch seated at a quiet little table in a corner on the outdoor covered patio.
The service and the food was outstanding! Our waitress made excellent menu recommendations, which we took, and kept our coffee cups hot & full. My husband enjoyed an original Bloody Mary and ordered the “Old Skool” Breakfast Bowl and I ate every bite of the Avocado Toast and Eggs. Both were unique and a perfect balance of flavor, texture, spice with a touch sweet honey! Oh, another win for us... our two pups were welcome to be with us on the patio. This was HUGE as it was mid-morning, much to warm to leave them in our car and we were tired of drive-thru and take away! . Real coffee! Real service! Real food! Thank you!

Clean

Best Western Heritage Inn

The Best Western Heritage Inn is a 3+ Bone BringFido recommendation for us. This was our half way stop between Redding CA and Phoenix AR and there is not much out in this stretch of California. As others have stated, the Best Western Heritage Inn is right off I-5 & next to a huge truck stop w/ lots of bare dirt.
I made the reservation earlier in the day thru the BF app with a request in the note section for a ground floor unit. When we arrived they hadn’t received the request and said there was not a pet friendly ground floor room available. Ok then, how about a 2nd floor room near an elevator? No elevators. We ended up on the second floor corner room near an outside concrete hall & staircase. The room was sparsely decorated, but smelled fresh, clean and was well supplied. The windows had very nice blackout window coverings. Good choice as the lights from the neighboring truck stop and freeway traffic was all night long. Unfortunately the curtains didn’t help with the noise so much. To be fair, it was muffled and more like background noise, something to get used to. I appreciated the safety of a very well lit parking lot. The staff was friendly and thorough, the take-away sack breakfast was appreciated,’filled with breakfast pastries, bars yogurt, canned fruit cup.
Overall, not a WOW but positive.

Nice for one night

Best Western Plus Twin View Inn & Suites

Friendly staff, no-frills king room was clean and deodorized. Bed was comfortable enough. We stayed on the ground floor in room 103. Fairly quiet and conveniently near the exit door to walk the two big pups. Shower water flow was strong with plenty of hot water earning an extra 🦴 after a long day on the road!
Covid breakfast with no sit down service allowed We ordered with tables separating us from the server. The buffet was standard fair, served with a smile. Easy access to and from the freeway for an early morning start.
FYI there is a $100 pet deposit to be returned to your card after your stay, minus a non-refundable $20 per pet fee.
