Dog Friendly State Park

This was one of the most dog friendly parks we’ve been to- dogs are allowed on all trails in the park. The only place they weren’t allowed was the pools! My one criticism is that many campers do not follow the leash rule so
we encountered several dogs flying out of their campsites unleashed to accost our dogs. Rangers need to be more vigilant about this as an injury from a dog encounter would be many miles away from care.

Great Stop

We love Davis and this was an easy stop to make- plenty of parking right next to the park and two outdoor patio areas for people with pups. The food was great- we had their cheeseburger, buffalo burger and lamb burger- all were very good!

Best Camp Spot For Dogs

I’m so used to being severely limited when camping with my dogs- this place was great. Dogs were everywhere! They have great beach access and picnic spots along the water. We walked over from camp and posted up all day next to the water. Definitely recommend!

Great Stop!

The Peg House is deceiving from the road- just looks like a place to stop and pick up ice on your way to the campground, but it is so much more! venture behind the mini market and you will find a full service grill with local produce and beer! Outside patio/garden is beautiful. Water bowls are readily available- we were surprised and so glad we stopped!

Beautiful

Although dogs are only allowed on paved walkways, there is a paved trail that runs right next to the water so you can get up close with your pup.

Nice Stop

We stopped in on our way up to Tahoe. We had a great lunch on the outside patio and service staff was super friendly. Only con is that it is close to a busy road so make sure your dog is well secured.
