Great stores
Lowe's Home ImprovementAll the Lowes allow pups, and every time we go, they give mine lots of attention. Sometimes they even have biscuits. If it's a warm day, my dog likes to lay on the cool concrete floor while I'm looking at something.

Nice Place
Cascades PreserveIt's actually in Guilford County, and can be hard to find. Our GPS sent us to the wrong place but we ended up finding it. We went in Nov. on my birthday. My health's not great but I had a pretty easy time with it. It's nice having a place like that this far east. There were lots of other dogs there... very popular spot on a nice day. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Not great for us
Tanglewoof Dog Park at Tanglewood ParkThe one time we visited, there were people there who were sitting in their cars while letting their dogs run loose in the park. Their dogs would bully other dogs, including when they tried to come in. Another person had to help me come in. Also, while there, it was so muddy, despite not having any rain for over a week. There's no shade. I just wasn't as impressed as others were. Maybe I'll try it again one day.

Great Store
Mast General StoreThis is a small chain of stores that originated in the mountains of NC. They carry great outdoorsy stuff, camping stuff, house stuff, and lots of candy. Dogs are always welcome and they usually have a dish of water. Not too many places in that area are dog-friendly, so it's a great spot to get in out of the rain or sun if needed during a street festival.
