Comfortable Stay
Comfort Inn & Suites YorkIt was a nice stay. I do prefer a suite, but the room had a couch, we were on the first floor, and everything was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Other guests were quiet and respectful. I would definitely remind pet owners to pick up after your dogs or our nightly pet fees are going to continue rising. It is frustrating to walk through a mine field in the pet walking area. How hard is it, really, to pick up after our dogs when the bags are even provided for us??
Nice Stay
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbia / Fort MeadeNicely refurbished hotel, friendly staff, plenty of green space to walk dogs (and it was clean green space). Reasonable pet fee.
Just OK
Parkview Inn and Conference CenterI didn't have many choices when I booked late for a dog show (my RV generator went suddenly on the fritz). There were some big upsides to this property. Lots of (I mean A LOT) green space to walk the dog. Nice property, shaded, felt very safe. The staff was great, accommodating, friendly. The price is good. But the rooms... I had to be assigned to three rooms before one worked. The lights weren't working in my first room, the door wouldn't open in the second. The third room I stayed in, but the carpet was old and worn and the room smelled distinctly of ammonia, likely from years of damp carpet and perhaps pet accidents over the years. The bathroom fan was so loud (as were the fans in neighboring rooms) that I never turned on the lights in there. One more positive... the bed sheets were clean and the bed/pillows were comfortable. I did not use the blankets provided as I always bring my own to protect hotel bed from dog hair. It seems like this was once a nice resort, and with room makeovers I think it could be again. But I'd have to say the air quality and dirty/worn carpets (they were obviously vacuumed) was a deal breaker for any return stays without room updates.
