delicious

The Breakfast Spot

My dog and I had a great breakfast here on a Sunday morning. I had the French toast, sausage, and eggs. My dog had the bacon. He says it was delicious. :) They even had a large selection of teas (I had Earl Grey). Make sure you get there before the kitchen closes at noon.

not worth it

Christie's on the Lake

I came on a Saturday around 7pm. Traffic is horrendous in this area of town and parking is almost non-existent. I was "lucky" to have found someplace to park within walking distance (I should have taken that as my first sign to choose somewhere else). When I found the place, no one acknowledged me or another patron I saw trying to get seated. The hostess seems to have other tasks to attend to in addition to seating people so her post seemed abandoned at first. Luckily, my dog was welcome, but not really acknowledged. I can live with that, but a different restaurant in town had been so friendly towards my dog that Christie's was weird simply by contrast. The service was pretty slow, and the food really was not worth the money. I ordered onion rings and crab cakes. The onion rings were edible, but the crab cakes were terrible. What a disappointment--the reason I chose this restaurant was because I was craving crab cakes... My dog ate some of it, but even he had to be convinced.

very nice, a little pricey

The Queensbury Hotel

With so many dingy-looking motels all over Lake George, I was confident from the Queensbury's website that this hotel would be clean and comfortable. The lobby makes this hotel seem rather upscale--it is just gorgeous, and there was a live band playing low-key music when I arrived. The hallways and rooms themselves could probably use an update if you are fussy about that sort of thing, though. For me, it was nice and comfy. I couldn't enjoy any other parts of the hotel due to having my dog with me, but my solution for breakfast was to order room service! The sausage/egg/cheese sandwich was delicious. Downsides? I feel like the pet fee is a bit steep. Also, watch out when arriving because the large sign that says "Queensbury Hotel: ENTRANCE" is actually an EXIT ONLY and I was halfway in before having to cause a traffic disruption by backing out again. Just go to the very next driveway and you'll be entering a nice large parking lot.

Amazing!!

Lake George Kayak Co.

I took my dog on his first kayaking adventure and it was so much fun! My dog (pug) just sat there on my lap nice and calmly the entire time (I've heard that some dogs jump out, so be careful!). I am a low-experience kayaker, so I stayed in the 5mph boat zone, which was large enough for my dog and me to paddle around for an hour and follow some ducks. Lake George is rather large, though, so if you're an experienced kayaker you could pay for a half-day or all-day rental and really explore. It was a beautiful day for it when we went. Lovely scenery.

good but hard to find and to park

Lake George Dog Beach

I had a heck of a time trying to find the place and then trying to figure out how/where to park. Once parked (which cost me $10, cash only), I found the beach...or so I thought! I went into the building to get changed and use the restroom, but I was sent away due to my dog being with me. Apparently, the dog beach is a short walk away from the main building and beach, and you'd better already be changed and toileted because if your dog is with you, you're out of luck. Finally at the dog beach (again, NOT marked), it turned out to be very nice. It was clear, clean, and refreshing. The dogs who were there obviously are well-behaved because the "dog beach" looked just as nice as the main beach...which just goes to show it's not such a big deal for places to allow dogs--if only they all knew that!

excellent

Adirondack Pub & Brewery

This restaurant was very welcoming to my dog. It was easy to get seated because the host/hostess station was outdoors. When our waitress came over, she brought a bowl of ice water for my dog without my having to ask! She was very friendly and the fish fry I had was great. Service was quick!

excellent

Mr. Bill's Carhop

This place had good food, friendly staff, a restroom for the humans, and just an all-around nice atmosphere. My dog was welcome with no problem.

nice dog park

Lake George Dog Park

This is a good place for dogs to run off some steam. It didn't seem extra special, but it had what we were looking for. It had 2 separate dog areas (for large and small dogs) and an extra gate for keeping the dogs safe. There was water, waste bags, trash cans, some interesting things for the dogs to walk on or through, and places for the humans to sit. The only thing I heard the other dog parents mention was that it might be nice to put in a restroom for the humans!
