bartender was a jerk to me
Westville PubI would like to start off this review by saying that the ADA does not require service animals to wear a vest, ID tag, or specific harness. Therefore the bartender in question had NO IDEA whether or not my dog was a service dog that was highly trained or not because he did not ask. Now that's out of the way here is what I have to say.
I was going to eat at Westville Pub but decided not to once the bartender was a total jerk to me on my way to the back patio. I had my standard poodle with me and I was told by a host that they only allow dogs on the back patio, which is totally understandable and I do not have a problem with that policy. So I started to make my way to the back patio as directed by one of the hosts and literally was stopped by another customer that wanted to pet him in the doorway of the back patio. He pet him for a total of 10 seconds at most when the bartender approached me and said excuse me but can you please make your way to the patio we don't allow dogs in the dining room (again I was in the doorway to the patio) I replied "oh I'm sorry" and walked away. The other customer that stopped me said to the bartender "I apologize, it was my fault for stopping them". The bartender then responded "No, it's not your fault it's theirs. They cant follow simple directions". At that point I left the establishment and will NOT be going back with or without a dog. I completely understand having a no dog policy but what I find reprehensible is the way the bartender treated me before I even sat down.
