Beautiful Location

Tunnel Mountain Resort

Tunnel Mountain Resort sits on the edge of town partially up the mountain. Beautiful mountain views, quiet, there are several other resorts clustered together in a little neighborhood. Good area for walking your dog- sidewalks, many nearby hiking trails. It's a short one minute drive to get into downtown. There is also wide sidewalk from the resort all the way into town- about a 10-15 minute walk, and a bus stop right in front of the hotel. The majority of the rooms have outdoor entrances, which I prefer with my dog- she finds that less stressful. I booked a Studio Condo, which was lots of space and had a full kitchen- worth the $10 more than a standard room. Just a heads up some of the rooms (condos and larger) have wood burning fireplaces - and the hotel leaves a nice big pile of split wood for you next to the fireplace. So if your dog is a wood chipper you might want to leave them out on the balcony. Mine left it alone every time I asked her when she nosed the pile, but I'm pretty sure she'd sneak one off the first chance I'm not paying attention. The hotel keeps a shed full of split wood for anyone to restock. I was here in mid-October and the smell of the wood fires crackling in the air was lovely. The hotel provides a set of dog dishes, a toy and a dog bed, which is nice of them. Rules- no pets on furniture or left alone in room. Large dogs up to 100 Ibs are welcome, cats are too. Overall a nice pet friendly get away in a beautiful relaxing setting.
