Very dog friendly
Lorelei Cabana Bar & RestaurantWhen we approached the restaurant there was a sign that led us to believe we could not go any further with our dogs - but then we asked the hostess and she said we could sit ANYWHERE - so we chose a spot on the beach right by the water - awesome. It was a great visit up until the food came - a whole bunch of flies followed the server and we had to wave our hands over our plates the whole time while eating. But the food was really delicious - and it is possible this is not a regular thing - and the flies disappeared when the plates were removed. If you time it with sunset you are on the correct side (bayside) to get to see the sunset while dining.
Dogs enjoyed it
Founder's Park Dog ParkWe brought our 2 dogs while on vacation and they enjoyed this park. Plenty of space - and some trees to find shade. If you are staying at a hotel or rental house in Islamorada ask if they have a "code word" for Founders Park. We had one from our rental house - but no one was at the entrance the two times we visited - so just drove in. If you do not have a code word then it is $8 per person. Just a note: there is a Publix a few miles south of the park and they had a nice amount of grass (on opposite site of the building (far from road)). So i was able to walk around with the dogs (on leash) while spouse shopped. That was nice.
