We stayed one night with one small dog. There was a pet fee. Hotel was very dog friendly and we saw several other dogs while we were there. There is a very nice grassy area right out front of the hotel which includes a doggy poop bag bin. It's also adjacent to the Riverwalk. Dogs are not allowed in the (free) breakfast buffet or evening reception but you are allowed to take items "to go" so we just took turns going. Would recommend, especially for the easy access to outdoors.

Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area is a new nature park in Alamance County NC. There are several trails that leave from the same parking lot. We did the Pine Hill Trailhead hikes for Heartleaf and Longleaf. Heartleaf was the better of the two and it looked like Northern Approach (which we didn't do) would also be nice.
Visited for the first time today -- outdoor farm stand that is dog friendly.

First time taking Max to Bass Pro Shops -- they were very friendly and we saw several other dogs there.

Max (dog) and I stopped here today -- apparently they are in a new location so double check before you go (June 2024). They were very welcoming and offered a treat at checkout.

Max (dog) and I stopped in and were greeted very warmly -- they are super dog friendly. Everyone who saw us smiled and said hello to Max. They had treats at checkout too.

We have been here quite a few times and I reviewed once before but just saying that it's still a wonderful place to go with Max -- there are paved trails and some dirt ones too. Good parking and the water fountain by the information center has a low basin/fountain for dogs.

Caffe Driade can be reached via the park trail behind it that runs from Umstead Park to the Chapel Hill Community Center. Cute place with lots of small areas of outdoor seating. They have dog treats too.
Updated June 2024 -- they are no longer as dog friendly as they were so I'm revising my rating. They changed their entry and it's no longer "walk up" and dogs are not allowed in to the area where orders are placed.

Brixx has great pizza and is dog friendly too! They have water dishes for dogs even “chicken for dog” as an item (that’s even what it said on my receipt).

Great food and a big outdoor patio that is dog friendly. They do close the patio for cold and rain (perhaps obviously) so go on a nice day.
