Made our trip so much easier and better
DoubleTree by Hilton Virginia BeachWe absolutely loved staying at this DoubleTree and would again. You do have to sign a pet agreement at check-in with several conditions (like not leaving the dog alone in the room), and there is a $50 fee, but they were very welcoming to our dog who is 70lbs. There is plenty of grass around the area for walks and potty breaks. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way is they really try and sell you on eating at the restaurant onsite, but the restaurant doesn't allow dogs (only service dogs), meaning you'd have to leave them in the room alone if you wanted to eat there, which is in the agreement that it's not allowed... Not really a big deal, it just didn't really make a ton of sense to me. If they allowed all dogs on the patio, that would be awesome. But we still had a great time and appreciated being able to have our beloved pup comfortably travel with us.
Loved this place!
Calypso Bar & GrillThey allow all dogs (not just service dogs)! We got to sit in the covered patio with him. They brought him a bowl of water, and actually gave us a free Tito's branded water bowl to take home. So nice! The food is very good, and the view of the beach is lovely.
Day and weight restrictions
The ShackWe went here on a Sunday and they said they don't allow dogs on weekends, and on week days there is a weight limit of 25lbs. Our dog is 70 lbs so it wouldn't have worked regardless.
Great spot for dogs!
Abbey Road Pub & RestaurantWe loved this place. They brought out a nice big bowl of water for our pup and gave him lots of attention and pets :)
