OKAY Place
Super 8 by Wyndham YrekaNot a lot to choose from in Yreka and this one had the best rating. The room was clean, decent bed, fridge and microwave worked fine and no freeway noise. The laminate flooring was great for the dogs. The pet area, not so much - a lot of dried dig poop in it that other dog owners couldn't be bothered to clean up. Guessing from the amount the hotel might clean it up about once a week or so. Pet owners should clean up after their pets but pet friendly is more than just allowing owners to stay with their pets. This place had the highest rating in Yreka so we'll probably try to avoid the town on future travels with our pooches.

Great Staff
Best Western Heritage InnBoth Morning and evening staff were absolutely exceptional. The dog area outside was beautiful green grass and even had a shade tree. The hotel is near but not on the freeway and once the door was closed you could not hear any traffic. The room had been recently refurbished, completely clean with excellent coffee and coffee maker in the room. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars though because the bed was so hard I woke with a terrible back ache. Even my husband who is not a picky sleeper said the mattress was awful. I would have loved to give the place 5 plus stars because everything else, including a refrigerator that actually kept things truly cold, was so wonderful. The best I could do was 4 stars though and that was a bit of a stretch due to a terrible mattress.
