Beautiful Hideaway
Dog Park at Margaret T. Hance ParkThis dog park is just across the street from the park. The park and the dog park are a great hideaway in the midst of the city. It is our go-to stop when traveling through the area.
Entire Park was Beautiful
Miko's Corner PlaygroundWe walked past the dog park due to the heat and crowd, but we're able to enjoy shade-hopping through the rest of the park. Great area with lots of shade and space! Duck ponds kept my boys interested and open fields have us space to run (on leash).
We were so enthralled with the park that we missed the fact that there is a zoo!
Best Idea Ever
Bookmans East Entertainment ExchangeWhen trying to avoid the heat for a while, we happened upon a dog friendly bookstore. My big dogs were given treats and pets, and I got to explore a unique collection of books, music, and games! I wish all bookstores were dog friendly like this!
Great Store
Summit HutIf you are used to the bigger outdoors-adventure gear store, this is the place to go! My big dogs were welcomed and I got to do some shopping on products that I don't normally see in my big-box adventure stores!
Yummy!
Joyride Taco HouseThe food was delicious and reasonably priced. The outside patio was very accommodating with tables spaced out well. All staff was very friendly. Loved the atmosphere. Decorations reminded me of '70s Palm Springs.
Amazing
Brother John's Beer, Bourbon & BBQGreat shaded outdoor patio! Phenomenal customer service and food! Cornhole and large Jenga. Dogs were welcomed and loved on by the staff. Live music on the weekends.
Reasonable Rate
La Posada Lodge & Casitas Ascend Hotel CollectionReasonable rate for an excellent room. We needed a last minute room and were able to secure one with my two XL dogs. Pet fee: $25/dog. Room was great. Included breakfast was great. Grounds were beautiful. Staff extremely courteous and helpful.
Must Stop!
Ruby's Roadside GrillI took my two large dogs and had a fabulous meal here. The facility is extremely dog friendly and the food is phenomenal. The owners took a break from pitching in with dish washing to come out and chat with us. Everything is made in their kitchens, and the meat is locally sourced. My dogs were treated great, I was treated with great service, and I can't wait to go back to try another item on the menu!
Not So Dog Friendly
Prehistoric GardensAs posted by a previous reviewer: they no longer allow large dogs on the property. If the dog cannot be carried, they cannot go through the exhibit. Very disappointed.
