Trapped in room!

After checking in and finding our room, I brought my dog in to be warm while we unloaded the car. When we tried to re-enter the room our key card wouldn’t work. My husband had to go get the manager while I waited with our luggage outside the room. It was 7 degrees outside on Christmas Eve. While the manager worked to get the door open, my dog is raising Cain! Finally after about 15 minutes we were able to get inside. Only to be trapped inside because the door would not open! My husband literally, and I do mean literally, had to pick the lock to get us out! The manager tried but couldn’t.

Apparently the batteries had died in the locking mechanism. We were trapped for close to an hour! The manager did refund the $42 pet deposit but although she said she would give us a partial refund on the room, she did not. At checkout I asked about it and she said because I didn’t book directly through the hotel she couldn’t. The substitute room we were given had not been cleaned so we had to go to a THIRD room. This room had smaller beds and was a smoking room. A dog bone and a too good of a rating. I would give this hotel 5 dog poop bags, if you had a rating for how bad our experience was!
