My husband and I travel the American west coast and Pacific Mexico with our Carolina Dog Foxy. We go everywhere with our dog and really appreciate suggestions from Bring Fido!

Fun stop
Blue Heron French Cheese CompanyWe enjoyed this stop, even though it wasn’t what we expected. It’s more of an awesome gift shop with a beautiful courtyard than a cheese company. they do sell many different types of cheese, but very few of their own. They also sell lots of pickled things, jams, candy, and ice cream. One has to go inside to purchase things, so it can be a bit tough with a dog. There is a huge courtyard with lots of outside seating, but no shade, at least at this time of year. We ordered a wine tasting and made a little makeshift charcuterie. The lady pouring the wine helped carry it all outside. Not a bad way to take a break on a road trip.
Yum!
Rudy's Country Store & Bar-B-QWe enjoyed a tasty barbecue lunch at Rudy’s today. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. There are two outdoor picnic tables under a rain and sun proof awning. The menu is a La carte with a wide variety. It is counter order so your pup may need to wait outside for you.
Good food, nice patio, great beer!
Cascade Lakes LodgeWe really enjoyed our evening at Cascade Lakes! The staff are very friendly and offer a dog patty or doggy chicken breast. The beers are varied and tasty. We enjoyed the patio with tables with umbrellas in the shade of the restaurant during the evening. They offer T-shirts and doggy collars and bandanas in their logo shop.
Wish we could give six bones!
Steinhaus KellerAmazing food! Incredibly dog friendly (Foxy loved the Jager sauce on the burger she had from the doggie menu)! My husband remarked this is the best German food he’s eaten since he left Germany! Good selection of German beers and very friendly service. Do yourself a favor and eat here!
The patio is a cute interior courtyard with patio heaters and lots of shade but we saw large dogs dining inside as well.
Nice place
Houlihan'sThis is a nice restaurant with good food. It was a bit on the pricey side but there was a lot of food for the $20 entree price. The patio has umbrellas for shade and a couple of heaters if needed. We were a little disappointed that the very small side of chicken we ordered for our pup was $7.
Sad
Bubba's Bistrojust left Bubbas bistro. We were seated outside by the host and given menus. He then shortly came by to say the owner came in and said no one is allowed to sit outside because the tarps they have up for shade or falling down. Make sure you call to make sure the patio is in working order before you show up.
Yum!
McGarvey's Wee PubDelicious, authentic Irish fare with very friendly service. The patio is partially covered for use rain or shine. The staff was great and the food delicious!
Not there
Big Lee's - Serious About BarbecueApparently Big Lee‘s is a food truck that is normally at the location listed on Bring Fido. However, we tried twice to eat there and the truck was not an operation nor was it there. A lady at a local business said they are usually there Tuesday through Saturday but haven’t showed up this week and she didn’t know why. Guess they’re not that serious about barbecue!
Cute place
Mojo GrillMojo’s has good food and a fun dog friendly patio that is part fully covered with ceiling fans and part picnic tables with umbrellas. There is corn hole and an over sized Jenga set for entertainment while you’re there. They didn’t offer much for a doggy menu so we ordered a kid’s meal which was great but a tad pricey. Our to go box boasted a great portrait of our pup!
Worth going out of the way!
Dreamland Bar-B-QueDreamland is in the corner of a large mall but worth going out of the way to get to. The food was great and for good prices. There is plenty of fully covered patio seating with ceiling fans and heaters for any type of weather. We loved it and our pup loved getting some bites of BBQ!
Above and beyond for dog owners
Primo's Grill & DeliPrimo’s is a sandwich shop with great variety and food and a fully covered patio with ceiling fans for all-weather doggy dining. Normally guests must order inside at the counter but Primo’s goes above and beyond by providing table side service for those on the patio with dogs. The sandwiches were so good and the service so friendly we went back for two days in a row!
Comfortable and tasty
VIP's CafeVIPs has a large patio covered by a pergola and umbrellas to beat the heat. staff are friendly and the food is great with a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. Prices were reasonable with daily specials as well.
Good but pricey
Smokey & the BrisketSmokey’s serves good food and there is plenty of patio seating, all covered from sun and rain. Ordering must be done at the counter with pups staying outdoors but food is brought to the table. The food was tasty but a bit expensive as everything is ordered a la carte.
Excellent place!
Bill & Tim's Barbeque & Tap HouseThis BBQ place has great food at reasonable prices. The patio is covered and comfortable in all weather and even includes patio heaters for cooler days. There are several outdoor tables that allow dogs. Orders must be placed at the counter but the food is brought to your table by a server. Definitely love this great barbecue place!
Expanded outdoor seating
Flashback GrillWe have visited Flashback Grill over the past year and are excited to see they’ve expanded their outdoor seating! Previously there were a few outdoor tables with umbrellas. There are now several outdoor tables and shade/rain protection from tents with decorative lighting. The place has a fun vibe, the service is friendly and the food delicious!
Yum!
Smoky Mountain Pizzeria GrillSmoky Mountain was a great place to eat! The food was delicious and the menu offered much more than just pizzas with lots of salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas and desserts. The service was friendly and our server brought out a bucket of cold water on a hot afternoon. The patio has four tables with umbrellas and a pergola overhead, making it shady but it would not work well on a rainy day. We really enjoyed eating here!
Nice place, good food!
WingersWingers is a sports bar type atmosphere with four dog friendly tables in the back. It wasn’t sketch at all (as previously described) so maybe they’ve improved the area. The patio is a concrete floor with a large metal gazebo covering metal patio chairs and tables. It is well shaded and rain proof and has beautiful lights for evening dining. The food was very tasty and the menu very diverse. Our waitress suggested we order the side of chicken for the nachos when we asked about chicken for our dog. It ended up being $2.50 for a full breast of grilled chicken!
Awesome food and friendliness!
Helga's German Restaurant and DeliHelga’s has a beautiful outdoor beergarten but also allows dogs inside the restaurant! The food was authentic and delicious and the German beer sampler was great! There is also a German deli where we found food items we haven’t seen outside of Germany. Definitely worth a visit!
Awesome breakfast place!
Peach CafePeach Cafe is a cute spot with a covered dog friendly patio that has been expanded to include street tables covered by an awning. It would be great in sun or rain. The food was tasty and the staff very friendly!
Good Sushi
Umiya SushiThis tasty sushi restaurant is located in an outdoor food court area within an upscale mall. There are several outdoor tables but they are closed during rainy weather. The manager had closed the patio the day we visited but the waitress was kind enough to let us have a table because we had our pup. During hot weather there would be shade from buildings and trees. They offer an extensive menu and a great happy hour menu.
Nice, Traditional Diner
Flashback GrillWe enjoyed eating at this classic American diner with traditional breakfasts, pizzas and burgers. The outdoor patio offers umbrellas for shade on the hot days.
Great Place!
Coburg Pizza CompanyWe loved this place! Cute atmosphere with covered patio and outdoor fire pit makes it comfortable in all weather. The wings and pasta were amazing! You must order at the counter so your pup must stay outside but the food will be brought out to you. We will definitely be back and we’ll check out the location in Springfield too.
The Food - Wow!
McShanes Bar & GrillWe stopped by McShane’s because of its proximity to the RV park where we stayed, and were so glad we did! For a sports bar, the food is absolutely amazing! The menu is typical pub food - burgers, sandwiches, etc, but the quality had us coming back! Everything is made from scratch and is full of flavor! Patrons with dogs can hang out on the fully covered patio (good in heat and rain) where there are two TVs showing your favorite game. You have to order at the bar (maybe a COVID thing) but they will bring the food and drinks out to you. Definitely try the garlic fries, cheese curds, and onion rings!
Delicious Sushi
Oishii SushiEnjoy delicious sushi at the two outdoor tables that are dog friendly. The restaurant is open for takeout during COVID and it is convenient to call ahead and pick it up and sit outside. Prices are reasonable and the food is good!
Great Place!
Studio One CafeCute cafe that serves breakfast all day. Good size, covered, dog friendly patio and good food.
Great Local Place!
Cafe 440Great little locally owned spot with good food and wonderful, friendly service!
Yum!
Sabai Cafe & BarThis tasty Thai restaurant has great food and several outdoor tables with umbrellas that are perfect on a warm day.
Great Food!
Ciao PizzaAbsolutely great food! We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Most entrees are $11-$20 and we’ll worth it! There are several outside tables on the sidewalk and it is a pretty quiet location. We will come back!
Sad Results
Hotel CasanticaI had great hope for this beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and the pool is warm. However the list of cons far exceeds the pros. They charge an exorbitant pet fee - $500 MXN per night. For that fee you get nothing. No water bowl, no pet bed, nothing. The building is excessively noisy and we could hear every door opening and closing throughout the hotel all night long. There is no parking on site. They valet park your car six blocks away so try not to forget anything. There’s nothing nearby for pets to enjoy. There isn’t even a spot of dirt for doing business in the morning. The restaurant was mediocre with overcooked steak and overpriced cocktails. Sorry I cannot recommend this hotel.
Yum!
Woody's Q ShackGreat food, good prices and comfortable patio! There are several patio tables with a roof overhead to keep sun and rain off. Food is ordered at the counter and brought out by servers. The wide selection of meats were all very tasty!
Good Food, Great Service
La Rosa BlancaLa Rosa Blanca Has a very nice covered patio protected from the wind, rain, and sun. There are overhead ceiling fans that help cool the patio even on a 98* day like today. The staff offered to bring a bowl of water for our dog and she enjoyed chilling out on the patio. The food was delicious and the beverages refreshing. Definitely recommend!
Delicious And Dog Friendly
Thai RhapsodyWe had a delicious dinner with all of our favorite Thai dishes at Thai Rhapsody! They have a dog water bowl out front and welcome dogs to their several patio tables with umbrellas. The food was amazing and the service very friendly!
Great Pizza, Nice Patio
Sahara PizzaWe found Sahara Pizza in Sultan and enjoyed delicious pizza and salad on the patio at picnic tables with patio umbrellas. The food was good and the service quick and friendly!
One Of The Best Places Ever!
Cabbage Patch Restaurant and CateringI’d give The Cabbage Patch six bones if I could! We ate an amazing meal here that almost left us speechless. Coupled with the beautiful patio ambience and charming, dog-friendly staff we could not have designed a more excellent experience! I know I’m gushing but this restaurant really deserves it!
No Longer Bistro
Bistro on SpruceThis location is no longer Bistro on Spruce, but a sushi restaurant called Syringa. The patio is dog friendly and the food and beer delicious!
Wow! Great Food!
Legends Bar & GrillWe are impressed and amazed! We came here expecting bar food - burgers and wings - and found probably the best food in Anthem. They serve up a full menu including chicken parmesan and crispy chicken bruschetta salad (our choices). Foxy had a burger patty with the complimentary bowl of water. We watched sports through the windows and enjoyed friendly, welcoming service. Easily 5 bones!
Great Food, Great Service
Issara ThaiWe have visited is Issara Thai several times over the years. They consistently serve great Thai food with excellent service. The patio is dog friendly but is not covered or heated. The restaurant is in Liberty Station which features miles of park for a walk before or after dinner.
Highly recommended!
Easy And Simple
Hotel BajaCheck in was a breeze. “Two people and a dog, please.” They don’t want to know how big or require a deposit or fee. Our room with a king bed is quiet and clean. A good value for $46 a night. The pool area is beautiful but pets aren’t allowed. There is an on-site restaurant but it seems only open for dinner. Parking is not gated, but the area appears safe and we can park in view of our room. It’s a short walk to the beach from the hotel. Suits us just fine!
Friendly With Great Margaritas!
Turquesa RestaurantWe loved Turquesa Restaurant, a cute place with a second floor patio overlooking the water. We were welcomed in with our dog and were allowed to sit inside or out. Staff members were friendly and spoke English. The margaritas were cold and delicious Mexican seafood cooked fresh. Entrees cost about $8.00 US. We highly recommend this friendly restaurant!
Streetfront Patio
Thunder Canyon BreweryWe used to eat at Thunder Mountain when it was located at the mall. There was a huge patio with shade and misters. Visiting Tucson this trip we were disappointed to visit the new location and find a tiny patio with two or three tables on the sidewalk along the street. While they do allow dogs, we didn’t stay as it was rush hour and the patio was very noisy.
Nice, Easy Hike
Sweetwater Preserve TrailheadWe’ve hiked here during two mornings in October. The trails are great, easy, single track trails with clearly marked signs at each intersection. Wear sturdy shoes and watch for cactus!
Laid Back And Delicious!
The Station Pub & GrillWe enjoyed a relaxed dinner on the covered patio that wraps around two sides of the restaurant. There was an outdoor TV showing Monday Night Football on the dog friendly patio. Staff was friendly and the food was good!
Tasty Breakfast!
Bisbee Breakfast ClubVisited this spot in Oct 2018. Breakfast and lunch menus available. The staff were friendly and the food was great. The covered patio is perfect in rain and heat. Our pup got a burger patty from the sides menu which she loved!
