Just the Right Amount of Busy

Patricia Simonet Laughing Dog Park

There is a single double gate entrance to this large gravel/dirt park.
There is access to water.
There are NOT small and large dog divided areas.
There is both a paved trail around the perimeter and a gravel trail for walking.
There was plenty of tree shade and three covered picnic benches for the humans.
Plenty of bags and several balls to toss.
Other dog owners were attentive and friendly.
There is construction and a watercraft check area that Google maps will direct you to. If you are coming from the east Go past the I90 west ramp before you turn left.
The entrance area is puke-worthy in smell. Too much urine that is clearly never rinsed down and there is no grass to help absorb the odor. This park could be greatly improved by adding grass.

Not that great

Irene Rinehart Riverfront Park

Not easy to access, no seating, dirt lot with minimal shade. Sure, there is access to water for your pooch, but they will be muddy from head to toe by the time you get to the gate. No wonder there was nobody else at the park on a weekday evening when we went. You don’t have to take the trail, and you should Google the address for the park. We went on a unnecessarily long walk to get to the park. Either way you have to walk to the other side of the lakes to get to the dog park area. The path is unpaved and not ADA accessible.

Improving!

Heber City Dog Park

This park was perfect for a quick stop on a long road trip. Nobody else was there during our lunch stop. Small dog area is grassy and has no water, while the big dog enclosure has water but is all gravel. Trees are planted so every year the lack of shade should decrease.
