List of dog “rules”

Bird & the Bottle

All stark restaurants (and only stark owned restaurants, it’s not a “California thing”) will hand you a silly and off putting list of dog rules. For a restaurant to be considered dog friendly, there shouldn’t be a list of rules for your dog. Rules include not feeding your dog the food that YOU PURCHASED, the dog can’t bark, and can’t sit in YOUR lap. Along with a few more rules. And while I believe some of these to be okay, at the end of the day a dog is a dog and what if he or she does let out a little bark because a skateboarder went by? Should your baby not be aloud in if it might cry? Any good dog owner wouldn’t sit there and allow their dog to continuously bark while people are trying to eat, but most parents of children will remain seated while their annoying child cries instead of taking them outside the restaurant until they calm down. My point is, the list of rules should be reserved for those who are making a scene and causing a problem for other patrons. I’ve dined here multiple times with my dog and was never handed a list of rules until this last time, which means I won’t be back, and I won’t be recommending the business to anyone, but my dog is well behaved. She’s never been fed at the table and because of that she falls asleep curled up in my lap as I eat. You’re not doing your business any favors by handing out this list of rules in a very dog friendly community.

You’re not doing your business any favors by handing out this list of rules in a very dog friendly community. Please please please take your business to spoon bar, Harmon guest house roof top, lo and behold, or any of the other amazingly dog friendly restaurants with amazing food in this town and skip the patronizing list of dog rules if you’re a dog lover.

Absolute worst place to bring your dog

Monti's

Don’t bring your dog here! Don’t even go here if you’re a dog lover. The waitress will set a laminated sheet of rules for your dog down in front of you that include (but not limited to) not allowing your dog to sit on your lap, not allowing you to feed your dog their food (which I don’t, but like, you payed for it, so why should they care??!!), not allowing your dog to bark (also, I get it if your dog barks excessively, but what happens if your dog barks at a skateboarder going by?! For example), not allowing your dog to pee on the cement (ummm okay? Well I do hope my dog won’t but what?) These rules are absolutely ridiculous. I can’t stand this restaurant. There are SO many more restaurants that are dog friendly and have better food. Don’t waste your time on this one.
