Exceptional staff, acceptable facilities, atrocious clientelle

The staff were wonderful, consummately professional, superb (also very much disability/LGBTQ etc. allies). Some of our fellow guests, on the other hand, were unbearably callous, entitled, rude, selfish, loud, and even aggressive. An all-night room party kept us awake (to be fair we didn't call down to the desk and complain, so that's on us) and quite a few old white men felt the need to corner us in elevators and 'enlighten' us about their pantheon of lunatic conspiracy theories. Hate to not be more positive, since the staff truly were exceptional, but guests are part of the 'vibe' of a place and sadly must factor in one's decision of where to stay. I also got a sense that head office, facing pandemic-fueled economic carnage, decided to cut costs in some of the wrong places. Niceties that would be assumed in many lesser chains were withheld, or paywalled. I'm betting the place will be more charming in autumn and that's when I intend to return.
