Mixed positives and negatives

The hotel itself is very nice and clearly well-maintained. The room was clean and also very nice. The staff was outstanding: they made us feel immediately welcome. All staff were helpful and particularly kind to our dog, and we have nothing but positives to say about them all. The area is quite lovely, with the lake path behind the hotel being a picturesque highlight of our trip.

The building itself is loud. Constant mechanical noise throughout the night made it almost impossible for us to sleep, especially our dog (and by extension, the rest of us.) The raucous party occupying the pool area until the wee hours of the morning added to the chaos of the night. The music from the pool area combined with the building noise made sleep impossible, and we were already exhausted when we arrived after driving many hours.

It’s a charming place with a lot to offer. Unfortunately, a restful night was not possible. We left the next morning more exhausted, and the next day’s long travel was brutal. In short, this would have been a 5 review. If something could be done about the noise, this would be a great place to stay. Unfortunately the point of a hotel is to rest, which just wasn’t possible there.
