Great location near the Outerbridge
Hampton Inn & Suites Staten IslandThe room was big and laid out really well, and it was very quiet. Super friendly and helpful staff, pet policy clearly explained at check-in. Had a great time and can't wait to go back!
Not very pet friendly
Holiday Inn Express Hauppauge an IHG HotelWe have stayed in this hotel previously on multiple occasions with the same dog with no problems or complaints about us - ever. So we were looking forward to returning and staying there while we were celebrating our nephew's wedding. On the night of the wedding (Saturday), as we were getting ready, the manager was going door to door, apparently trying to find out if people were leaving their dogs alone in the room, which he said was not allowed; not even for a minute like to go down to the lobby to get a cup of coffee or whatever, although previously we had been allowed to leave the dog in the room alone for a few hours.
Consequently, we ended up having to take the dog to the wedding and took turns sitting in the car with the dog as the dog was not allowed in the wedding venue either. I guess one bad owner spoiled it for the rest of us. You'd think they'd tell us when we checked in that they'd changed their policy. We could possibly have made other arrangements for the dog if we'd known in advance. I thought it was poor customer service. We won't be staying there again, with or without the dog.
Outrageous pet fee
Holiday Inn Express Roslyn - Manhasset Area an IHG HotelThe hotel was okay, very small lobby an elevator. The rooms are small as well. The driveway is tight, and pedestrians have to cross it to get to the front desk. The pet fee was $175, which I thought was outrageous. However, there was plenty of parking in the parking lot, which can be hard to find in western Long Island.
