Great stay!
Kimpton Riverplace Hotel an IHG HotelBeautiful view from our comfortable room and everyone so friendly to our pup! We found out the concierge offers pet sitting for a very reasonable fee on our way up from California to Seattle, so we stayed again on our way back and had a nice dinner at the super seafood place King Tide attached to the hotel (could have gone out and about Portland while she was with them but chose not to). You can also leave crate trained dogs in their crates in the room and leave your cell # (our girl likes her crate at night but barks when she’s left alone in it in the daytime…but for many pups this would be good). It’s not the cheapest place but we got a good off-season rate and no extra pet fee makes it less of a difference to cheaper spots. Damage waiver is clear—your pet should be truly housebroken/used to travel (it’s a nice place…I assume if you bring an inappropriately trained dog you’ll pay up).

Best outdoor dinner with pup on our trip!
Picasso CafeDelicious food & drinks, super pet-friendly (doggie menu + a free treat), cute neighborhood, nice staff. This was the best dining stop we made on a cross-country road trip with our pup. Highly recommend!!
