Good stay

The location is awesome. Lots of space for dogs. They have an area in the front, currently snowed in but a big grassy area in the back. My only complaint there is there are no doggie poop bags so bring your own. The room was spacious. I was concerned because it was on the 4th floor but they had a good working elevator. Zoie had never been in one so that took some convincing. There was a large balcony connected to the room overlooking the valley. The room had a fireplace, a jetted tiki and a really comfortable bed. They serve a continental breakfast that’s typical and good coffee. Their restaurant has a limited menu but it was decent and the service was outstanding. The best part of the stay was the price of the room and the convenience to the outside. I’d give it 5 bones if the restaurant would expand their menu.

A haven for dogs

At check-in, the staff hand out doggy treats, including a blanket/pad for the floor to sleep on Including a water bowl. There are balls in the lobby along with the throw sticks. What I love is that there is a wash off station for the pups when you get off the beach. The staff love dogs in a genuine way. I noticed the price went up a bit from last year but the rooms have a view of the ocean and it’s very accessible to the beach. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with a walker or wheelchair unless you’re satisfied to stay on the grass. The stairs are steep. Our 13-year-old lab had some trouble getting back up the stairs. This was our third trip. We will be back.

Avoid this place

Looks are deceiving. First off the directions getting to the office to register was clear as mud. We drove around for 15 minutes trying to figure it out while talking to the receptionist. When we got to the room we discovered the small refrigerator didn’t work, no coffee pot or ice machine available and there was hair in the shower. The toilet brush left on the floor should have been a clue. I got two rooms for the night. The spa or the pool wasn’t functioning either. The field behind the motel was nice for the dogs, so that’s the only positive I can say about this place.
