I've got a basset hound who loves to run and sniff.

Goose Poop Central
Woodbridge TrailIt's lovely to walk around the man-made lakes, but there is so much goose poop that managing my hound became difficult.
Great crowd and large park
Central Bark Dog ParkThe dog guardians at this park are friendly and do a good job of cleaning up after their pets, but the concrete area at the front of the park reeks of dog urine. There is concrete, grass, mulch and dirt for dogs to play in. There are some covered benches and some plastic chairs for seating.
Well-equipped trail!
Hicks Canyon TrailWe like this trail a lot because of the frequency of benches and dog bag/waste bins. My pup loves running on the paved side and sniffing her way along the dirt path. Just watch out of cyclists and the drop-off from the dirt path side.
Winding path between neighborhoods
Venta Spur TrailThe few times we've walked this trail there have been many other people walking dogs, but not really anyone else. It is narrow enough that it is difficult to keep the dogs from engaging, if that is a concern.
Wide Double-Sided Trail With Plenty to Sniff!
Peters Canyon TrailThis is our favorite trail in Irvine. There is enough space to keep our distance from other dogs and clear evidence of coyote dung, which thrills my sniffy pup. There is a dirt path and a paved path and the cyclists whiz by on the paved path, so your need total control of your dog if walking the paved side.
