A Lot of Little Things
Aloft Tallahassee DowntownWe usually stay in an airbnb when we stop in Tallahassee to see our daughter but, with all the extra fees that go along with them and the fact that you never really know what you're getting, we decided to look at pet-friendly hotels. Aloft stood out for a couple of reasons. Great location, super reviews, and NO PET FEE! I realize I'm still actually paying for my dog when I book the room, but being charged separately makes me feel like I'm being punished for bringing him. The room itself was basic, but still very nice. I was disappointed that there was only decaf in the room when I a got up the next morning, but that might have just been an oversight on housekeeping's part. Down in the lobby, though, there was a Starbucks where you can buy coffee - and also a separate little complimentary coffee station set up at the lobby bar offering FREE coffee with FREE hot tea! It's the little things and we can't wait to visit again.

Great Stay; No Frills
Budgetel Inn & SuitesWe have stayed there many times. It's an okay place, very basic. But this time, there was a very personable young man there to check us in, and he was terrific! Also, we have previously used a different booking site, but the past two times we used BringFido, and the pet fee dropped from $30 per night for our small dog to $10 per night! I've always thought the pet fee was RIDICULOUS anyway, because it's not like we ask for a cot for him; he sleeps on the bed with us. We take him with us every time we leave the room. Why punish us for bringing our dog with us?! Anyway, this stay was our best, thanks to the very pleasant check in by that sweet young man.
