Great stay for pets

Residence Inn by Marriott Houston Katy Mills

Our boy had a great time hanging out with us in Texas, there are great accommodations for him and many, many pets in the hotel. Our complaint is not with the ability to bring pets, it was the cleanliness in the hotel itself. This may just be an issue due to the pandemic and staffing shortages, but who knows.

We were told upon arrival that hotel staff only does a large clean and linen change one day a week, Wednesday. We made sure to vacate our room that day to have a full clean, as one does when only having cleaning once a week. We found even after the "clean" that is not completely the case. There were still crumbs and fluff on the floor after they supposedly "cleaned" as well as none of the counters wiped down.

Other days, towels and paper goods were supplied as well as trash taken if we desired, but after the "cleaning" we opted to take care of most of it ourselves. My hubs took out the trash to the dumpster most days. Common areas were also lacking cleanliness, elevator floors had the same debris for several days at a time (eg: a pen cap and dirt splatter from where I'm sure a beverage spilled were in one elevator for 2.5 days.) This was our first major trip in over 2 years due to the pandemic, we were disappointed in the hotel that claims to be sanitizing and keeping safety in mind.

As far as taking our pet and his comfort, we were great, there are nice grassy areas to walk and bags provided. Next time, we will consider a different dog friendly hotel for our own comfort.
