Beautiful place with lots of easy paved trails. Our dog loved exploring here!
- RobinJul 30, 2023As pet friendly as you get!
We loved coming here with our pup, she basically could go any place we could go, Except carpeted areas in the Visitor Center! Lots of trails!
- LeightonSep 25, 2022So pretty!
Our girl loved getting out of the car and walking around a bit here. The Garden of the Gods gift shop was also pet friendly!
- SheriAug 14, 2021Nice paved option and free
It's all paved so an easier option when needing a hiking break, dogs are required leashed (preferred) bathrooms and drinking fountain on site. Free if you stick with the park, not sure about the nature center. Should be good for all dog sizes, ages. Take the backroad out for a different view and balancing rock as well
- AndersenJul 20, 2021Dog Friendly!
We did the walk from the trading post to the Twins. Walked mid morning and hardly anyone there. Beautiful views from the top! Recommend you go early in the day because parking gets limited and hiking paths can be narrow when it gets crowded. Great activity to do with you dogs.
- DebbieJul 13, 2021Wonderful Visit!
We very much enjoyed our visit here at the end of June! our dog went everywhere we went including inside the visitor’s center! There were loads of trails to explore and the rock formations were awesome!
- RobertaJul 3, 2021Wonderful!
We were there on FurBaby Friday & got free food samples, doggie bags & a choice of 2, 3, or 4 mile dog friendly trails. near where we parked was an open field dogs enjoyed running leash-free. our dog had a great time!

- JadeAug 2, 2020Beautiful
Love this place! Been many times. So beautiful. Did a short walk with the pups last visit and looped around the park a couple times looking for wildlife. Saw several deer around sunset!
- JaraJul 19, 2020Amazing scenery!
My pup and I recently took a trip to Colorado, and I think this may have been my favorite place we visited. The views are breathtaking, and the trails weren't too strenuous for my little guy who isn't used to the Colorado altitude. It was more crowded than I thought it would be, but we arrived at 9am and were able to mostly beat the crowds. As we were leaving, there were TONS of people heading into the park, so I definitely recommend getting an early start if you don't want to deal with crowds.
- TheresaJul 13, 2020Dogs welcome
Dogs are welcome everywhere in the park, including the gift shop. Bring water though, your dog will need it because the walks can wear you out. Don't forget poo bags too.
- AmberJul 4, 2020Very Dog Friendly!
Beautiful view and awesome trails. Some are paved while other more rustic. Dogs are even welcome in the visitor center (except for cafeteria and the theater).

We brought our 2 year old boxer with us to explore garden of the gods. It was slightly busy, but everybody was extremely friendly to us and him. There are multiple places to stop and get the pup a drink. Being a boxer, he has a ton of energy. He was able to climb some of the rocks with my boyfriend. It completely wore him out. The views are unbelieveable.
- MollieOct 12, 2018Must See
While we didn’t hike on our visit the Garden of the Gods is phenomenal to see! The Trading Post is dog friendly as are many visitors! Our Griffin got lots of love!
- AlyssaJul 29, 2018Incredible
This was definitely one of my favorite spots while in Colorado. My dog loved getting to hike up to the top of the big rocks and walking along the trails. The views are absolutely incredible. The trails aren't hard at all, some have some steps to hike up but nothing too extreme, overall a great place for both my dog and I.
- JaslynJul 9, 2018AMAZING
We went to Garden of the Gods last week and absolutely loved it! Not only was it beautiful, but it was super dog friendly! Not only did my dog love it, but the staff loved her--there's no better feeling for a dog momma than that. We brought our own dog bags but there were stations with them and regular garbage cans. Plus, the paths were wide if we had to go past someone who was not totally sure about our dog or if we had to pass a family with another dog. Would definitely recommend and go back!
- MelissaMar 14, 2018Nice place to see
This was a great park to see, but their parking lots a very small all through the park which made finding parking a pain. Dogs allowed all through the park as long as on a leash. Enjoyed.

Beautiful views, easy walk, my dogs are adventurous and did some climbing up the rocks.

We took our dogs here on a Thursday afternoon and decided to do a trail away from people. The terrain was very desert like with cactuses and an advisory of rattlesnakes which was a little nerve racking when they wanted to smell bushes. Take lots and lots of water. There are a lot of dogs in the main area. Our pups loved it!!

First off let me state that Garden of the Gods is a tourist spot and is one of the most traveled to destinations in The Springs so keep that in mind on when you hit this place up. If you go on the weekend make sure to get there very early and do not feel like you have to park in the first lot (North Garden) by the formations. There is a lot to do and see in this park and you won't be able to do it all in one visit but you can see the high lights. You can also drive throughout most of the park and stop at overlooks to get some good views and pictures. The trail that goes through the formations is the most traveled and is paved so hit this up early to avoid crowds. The trails range from easy to difficult but most are moderate. Hit up the visitor center for a map because they do not provide one online. There is usually plenty of parking at the Trading Post and you can walk a moderate trail through the park to end in the Formation garden. This place is very dog friendly but keep in mind there are horseback riding tours throughout a good portion of the trails near the formations and dogs must be leashed at all times. The only bathrooms are at the visitor center and trading post.

A little more crowded than I prefer for hiking, but wow what an amazing place to see!

I have three dogs - Hudson GSD, Luca Poodle & Felix ChihuahuaX. They were amazed at this place. The loved climbing around on the walks and walking the trails. We only spent a short time here. It was pretty busy even mid week end of May.

Used Garden of the Gods as an adjustment day for Colorado hiking. Fun place to hike, steer clear of the paved path through central garden; you get better views and less people on the non-paved trails. It gets hot here even on cool days so make sure to bring plenty of water for you and your pet.

This was a great experience for my husband, our dog, and me. The paths are easy to walk and not extremely busy. However, I feel once you have walked one trail you have walked them all. Seriously how different does one red rock look from the other? Glad however that it was pet friendly because our Boxer enjoyed himself!

Fantastic scenery, some concrete paths and some dirt paths, picnic tables, lots of car traffic depending on the season but easy to avoid once you're on the trails
