Great for dogs but a warning!
Hartman Rocks Recreation AreaThe rock formations were beautiful & our fur baby loved climbing around. There were lots of places for picnics.
However, there was no shade & the road was dirt full of ruts. We did OK in our van but had to be careful navigating.
Good dog friendly hotel!
Comfort Inn & Suites Gunnison - Crested ButteThey put us on the 1st floor so no stairs or elevator. Plenty of grassy area. Tables & chairs out front so you can share a meal with your dog.
Nice for dogs!
Quality Inn & SuitesPet owners were assigned bottom floor rooms with patio doors opening to the grassy area for dogs to relieve themselves & there were poop bag stations if you forgot yours. I gave it 4 bones because, even though it was clean & had friendly staff, the hotel is starting to show its age (outside doors sticking & not opening or closing properly; our patio door locked by putting a rod in to block opening from the outside).
Wonderful!
Garden of the GodsWe were there on FurBaby Friday & got free food samples, doggie bags & a choice of 2, 3, or 4 mile dog friendly trails. near where we parked was an open field dogs enjoyed running leash-free. our dog had a great time!
Hot but fun!
Stratton Open SpaceYou have to climb about 1-1/2 miles to get to the reservoir. The trail has a gradual grade & not a bad climb but very little shade. We have a black dog & ended up crowding under what little shade we found — often with other dark colored & long haired dogs. Once there we had plenty of shade & our dog was able to cool off in the reservoir. Also, there were no bathroom facilities for humans. Our dog had fun & made new friends.
Our dog had a great time!
Bear Creek Dog Parkthis is a wonderful park! Plenty of poop bag stations & trash cans. There was only 1 water station at the entrance but our dog was happy drinking from the creek.
Great!
TAPAteriaThe waitress brought our dog a bowl of water. We ordered albondigas (meatballs) & shared them sans-sauce with our dog & she loved them.
