Pet Friendly Palmetto Trail - Swamp Fox Passage
Palmetto Trail - Swamp Fox Passage The Palmetto Trail - Swamp Fox Passage is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Awendaw! The map below shows a trailhead where you can pick up the Palmetto Trail - Swamp Fox Passage. Pet Friendly Beach at Sullivans Island
Beach at Sullivans Island Sullivan's Island is pet-friendly. All dogs on Sullivan Island, including day visitors and vacation renters, must have a town-issued dog permit to visit the island, including the beach based on a January to December schedule. Town Hall, located at 2056 Middle St, issues annual permits for $35 per dog if you're a resident and $50 for non-residents. Completed applications and proof of valid rabies vaccination are required for permit. The beach is open for off-leash dogs from 5am to 10pm and on-leash from 6pm to 5am from May 1 through Septermber 30. Dogs are not permitted on the beach between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm during summer. The winter hours are 5am to 12pm for off-leash dogs and 12pm to 5am for dogs on a leash from October 1 through May 30. Dogs are permitted all day, every day during the winter months. See Details
Isle of Palm Beaches From 5:00AM until 8:00AM April 1st through September 14th and 4:00PM until 10:00AM September 15th through March 31st. Abbey Nature Trail The 67-acre Abbey Nature Preserve has a 2.4-mile nature trail winding through woods and crossing over the mill pond. Once the original site of Poplar Grove's gristmill, the preserve is now part of the Coastal Land Trust and a wonderful escape from the city. Poplar Grove, dedicated to education, preservation and service to the community, maintains a busy schedule of activities throughout the year.
