Cornish Estate Trail Cornish Estate Trail is a somewhat easy, 4.5 mile hike in Hudson Highlands State Park that will take about 2.5 hours to complete with Fido. Hike by remnants of old buildings and the beautiful Hudson River. Dogs remain on a leash no longer than 10 feet and are not permitted in picnic areas. See Details
Storm King State Park Storm King State Park has a somewhat difficult, 3.5 mile hike that will take about 3 hours to complete with Fido. Although the trail skips Butter Hill and Storm King Mountain, it does offer wonderful views of the Hudson River, Bannerman Island, Cold Spring, and Constitution Marsh and is also more lightly traveled. Mirror Lake Mirror Lake is a great place to bring Fido when you're in Lake Placid. You can walk all the way around the lake on a 2.7 mile trail. Make sure you bring water and doggie clean-up bags, which are also available on the route around the lake. The water is absolutely clean and beautiful and we want to be sure this beach stays pet friendly forever! The beach is sandy and laid back and friendly dogs are welcome to take a dip with their owners as well. Events include, "Spring Cleanup Days," a "Maple Syrup Day" in March, and an annual musical, "Hoot on the Hudson," in early September. Barton Orchards Located on Hudson Valley's 175 acre premiere PYO family farm, Barton Orchards is now home to a pet-friendly park. To play in the dog park, pups must be well behaved, and you will need to be able to show proof of immunizations. Additionally, dogs are allowed in the orchard during PYO season; however they do need to be on a leash when walking outside of the the fenced dog park. Dogs are not to be brought inside buildings including The Tap Room, Farm Market or Bakery, which are also located on the farm. Opening hours vary depending on the season. The dog park is open on weekends form 12pm to 6pm from May through July. From July through November, they are open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, and weekends from 9am to 6pm. See Details
