Salisbury Beach State Reservation Dogs are welcome on a leash at Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Salisbury, Massachusetts. This public recreation area is popular among visitors who want to enjoy the water and beach. Fort Foster Park Located on Gerrish Island in Kittery Point, Fort Foster offers three small but sandy beaches, an extensive trail system, restroom facilities in season, picnic areas, and old military fortifications to explore. Winnekenni Park Winnekenni Park (the name comes from the Algonquin dialect, which means "very beautiful") is a hilly, city-owned conservation area of more than 700 acres. Upon entering the Park, you will see the Basin and Kenoza Lake behind it. These two bodies of water make up approximately half of the Park area. Plug Pond is situated in the southwest part of the park, and Winnekenni Castle is somewhat in between Kenoza Lake and Plug Pond.
