The 32-acre reservoir provides excellent trout fishing, boating and swimming. On the shoreline, you can enjoy hiking, camping and picnicking. The 4,500-acre area is at an elevation of 7,300 feet in the Schell Creek Range adjacent to the Humboldt National Forest, so there's plenty of woodland to explore with your pooch. North Zephyr Cove Beach North Zephyr Cove Beach is a dog-friendly area north of the actual Zephyr Cove Resort in NV. Parking fees may apply, depending on where you leave your car. Cathedral Rock Trail Cathedral Rock Trail is pet-friendly. At nearly three miles, this out-and-back trail is rated moderate as it can get a little steep at times. Bring your leashed pooch with you to wander up from Mazie Canyon, enjoying wildflowers and butterflies during the spring. You can pause for a moment at the waterfall around halfway up the pathway which has an old road leading to it. The trail climbs a few short, steep switchbacks before reaching the summit, with a spectacular view of Kyle Canyon. Be careful of wintery hikes as this spot is a major avalanche zone and clean up any mess that is left behind. See Details
Whale Beach Whale Beach in Carson City, NV, is pet friendly. Park up at the Secret Harbor Parking area and make your way to this popular stretch of beach that's also known as Black Sand Beach because of the color of the sand.
