Ferndale Project

"Are you going to finish that?" Photo by

Ferndale Project is the new sister brewery of Eastern Market Brewing Co. out of Detroit. Eastern Market purchased the space in 2019 and used it as a coffee supplier, beer delivery service, and vegan donut brand until it was ready to launch the Ferndale Project. The experimental arm of the brewery business offers patrons elevated libations like Almond Crunch Barrel-Aged Bourbon Stout and Cherry Funfetti Imperial Birthday Sour. Dogs are welcome to keep their beer-loving best friends company on the expansive patio outside.

Designated drivers can drop you off at The Little Blue House. This charming home is right next to Martin Road Park, where you can take your pooch for an evening stroll before bedtime.

Dedicated to local college basketball player Lauren Hill, who lost her life to a rare form of cancer, Lauren Hill Memorial Park opens to the public on April 22, 2022. In addition to bicycle trails and walking paths, your pooch is going to love the new dog park. This massive grassy space is divided into separate areas for small and large pups, with double-gated entrances on both sides for safe play. Lauren Hill Memorial Park was made possible by donations from local residents and businesses.

Fido won’t mind crossing the border into Kentucky for a stay at The Holly House. This dog-friendly Airbnb has a fenced backyard and a doggy door, so pups can come and go as they please.

Ashley River Park

The much-anticipated Ashley River Park is now open to the public. Sprawling across 85 acres along the Ashley River, the impressive project took 10 years to complete. Dorchester County’s latest recreational space has something for everyone. Furry friends can run free in the dog park, which is divided into two separate areas for large and small dogs. Kids can enjoy the playgrounds, a zipline, and a splash pad. And the whole family can break for a meal at the picnic shelters, or set off on a river adventure from the kayak launch or docks. Leashed pups are welcome to join you on the paved walking trails that wind through the space after a game of fetch.

For an affordable stay after you play, reserve a first-floor room at Wyndham Garden Summerville. Canine guests will have easy access to grassy relief areas in the front and back of the property.

If you’re looking for a new place to work remotely with your dog in Arvada, swing by Colorado Tap House when the sun is shining for a morning coffee or an afternoon brew on the large pet-friendly patio. Located just off the Ralston Creek Trail, it makes a great place to stop and refuel, whether you’re walking the full 27-mile route or just on a short stroll with your pooch. Biking with your buddy on the trail? Fix any issues at the on-site bike repair station.

For a comfortable place to stay with your pup, book Florence for a night or two. Fido can play outside in the fenced backyard while you prepare his favorite meal on the grill.

Liberty Point, Philadelphia’s biggest restaurant, opens to the public this April. The ambitious owners of Unleashed: Bark & Beer Craft Hall, a local pet-friendly restaurant with its very own dog park, are cutting the ribbon on the long-awaited dining experience at Penn’s Landing. The 30,000-square-foot hub is divided into five bars, a restaurant, an entertainment space, and waterfront views from the huge dog-friendly patio.

Take a riverfront walk back to the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing. Four-legged guests receive treats at check-in, and there is a park with a pet station in front of the hotel. For off-leash fun, Mario Lanza Dog Park is a short walk away.

Tabby & Jack’s

Oregon, WI

Tabby & Jack’s is a family-run Wisconsin pet food store. The health-conscious supplier recently opened its sixth location in the owner’s hometown of Oregon. The “pawfect” place to visit if you’re planning on putting Fido on a diet or considering a change to his dog food, they focus on sourcing foods without corn, wheat, chemicals, and unnecessary fillers. The store also carries a wide range of raw diet options and food toppers. In addition to high-quality food and treats, customers can reserve a holistic grooming session to help pups reach their health and wellness goals.

Now that your pooch is fueled up, take a trip to Anderson Farm County Park, home to a 36-acre off-leash dog park, before retiring to this nearby tiny home on a small farm.
