The U.S. is home to more than 9,000 breweries, and like yeast in a barrel, these numbers keep multiplying. Often housed in former industrial buildings or warehouses with outdoor seating areas, it’s common for these establishments to allow Fido to join you for a pint. However, some hop spots go above and beyond to make pups feel welcome. So, grab a growler with your “growler” at this 12-pack of pet-friendly breweries Fido is sure to dig.

According to Phoenix’s O.H.S.O. Brewery & Distillery, their establishments are “about good beer, tasty food, neighbors & their dogs, not necessarily in that order.” Visit their pet-friendly Arcadia location and you’ll quickly agree. From the hundreds of framed dog photos donning their walls to the “Barking Bar,” a line of taps that dispense water for Fido, there’s no denying this brewery and restaurant is a doggie gold mine. Use the back entrance with canine murals to enter the shaded outdoor patio and follow the paw prints to a table, picking up a pack of yummy treats along the way. Fans and misters keep “pawtrons” cool on warm days and there are hooks for attaching leashes. Order delicious craft brews like the staple BOOM Dynamite IPA or ask what seasonals are on tap.
Stay a short drive away at Aloft Phoenix Airport and swing by the brewery’s Gilbert location, The Park at O.H.S.O. Brewery, where Fido can play in the onsite dog park while you catch a movie or the big game on the giant TV, play yard games or listen to live music.
You’ll know you’ve arrived at Barker Brewhouse when you spot the giant dog mural on the side of the building. From the flight boards to the stained glass, the canine them is scattered throughout this Southern Indiana craft beer taphouse and nano brewery. Fido can join you inside or on the outdoor patio while you enjoy one of over 30 beers on tap including rotating house beers, or grab something from the huge selection of cans and bottles. While you’re there, play a board game, throw some darts or try your hand at pinball. Food trucks are often on site, but if you’re in the mood for a snack, grab a bowl of complimentary popcorn to share with your pooch. Be sure to check out the swag selection for cool dog-centric gear to take home, too.
Stay with your pup in the heart of downtown at DoubleTree by Hilton Evansville, which is also a short walk to the Ohio Riverfront where Fido can enjoy an evening stroll.
Pinellas Ale Works
Pinellas Ale Works has a beautiful beer garden where you can hang out for hours with your four-legged brew buddy, or snag a seat indoors if the weather isn’t cooperating. Bring your own food, order delivery, or swing by one of the visiting food trucks for delicious grub. The company’s acronym is PAW, and they live up to their name by donating to Pinellas County animal-related charities through frequent canine events like a twice-a-month Yappy Hour with a dollar off beer, adoptable dogs and plenty of swag.
Laughing Dog Brewery
The Laughing Dog Brewery aims to provide “fetchingly good beer,” and with names like Pawprint Pilsner, Man’s Best Friend and Loyal Companion you know it is! The beaming smile on every glass is Benny, the owners’ beloved yellow Lab, whose big grin keeps “paw-trons” flocking back. Dogs are welcome both on the patio and inside the taproom where you’ll see the canine theme flowing throughout. Hear live music, play arcade games, and pick up dog-centric swag for yourself and for Fido.

Before you head out, visit the gift shop to pick up a Dogfish Head-branded toy, leash or bowl, and treat Fido to a bag of Waggies Dog Treats made from Dogfish Head spent grain.

Find a seat around one of the fire pits, play a game of cornhole, listen to live music, or simply enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Swing by the gift shop for Sierra Nevada leashes, collars with built-in beer openers and a pale ale can that Fido can sink his teeth into. Don’t forget to mosey on down to the French Broad River from the pet-friendly trail on the grounds before continuing on to one of the most pet-friendly cities in America, Asheville.
Fido can run freely in the large fenced area of this dog-friendly home near Asheville that’s surrounded by mountain views.
Bigelow Brewing Company
Bigelow Brewing Company might as well be managed by dogs with the number of canine employees on the payroll. Five brewery dogs can be found visiting guests in the dog-friendly outdoor seating area and in the brewery’s on-site dog park. While Fido hangs out with his new pals in the fenced space, you can enjoy a pint of brews like Avery Peak and Copper Dog, both named after four-legged brew hands. You may also catch a glimpse of another furry employee, a grey cat named Gary who also enjoys meeting visitors and receiving pets. Grab a pint of his namesake beer, Scary Gary’s Do Good Ale, an ever-changing pilot beer with Gary on the label. A portion of the proceeds from each pint of Gary’s ale goes to an animal rescue.
After playing with his new friends in the dog park, Fido will be ready to rest up at this nearby rustic cabin.
Happy Bassett Brewing Co.
With the motto, “brewing beer for dog’s best friend,” Happy Bassett Brewing Co. has to be a hit among canines. This cozy dog-friendly taproom in Kansas welcomes four-legged visitors both inside and outdoors in the fenced yard. Snap Fido’s photo in front of the mural of dogs drinking beer and grab a bowl of water and treats from the bartender. Order tasty brews like Master of Puppers, Extra Special Boy and Purebred Porter and pick up a T-shirt or glassware featuring the Bassett Hound logo, or snag a branded dog bandana for Fido to show his support.
Wisconsin Brewing Company
Wisconsin Brewing Company has two great loves: dogs and beer. While you enjoy the distinctive spicy, chocolaty and dark Chocolate Lab Porter, Fido can savor treats made using the spent grain from the same beer. All proceeds from the sale of treats go to funding local dog parks. Grab a beer to go and explore the acres of land outside, which includes grassy spots for fetch and scenic ponds for dogs to enjoy a dip. You may also be treated to live music, food trucks and specials throughout the week.

Let Fido loose in the K-9 Korral at Tidal Creek Brewhouse on the coast of South Carolina. This dog- and family-friendly hangout serves up their own craft beers like Grand Strand IPA and Pollywog Porter along with coffee and specialty cocktails. But the real highlight is the fenced dog run with a selfie station, fire hydrant, tire agility weave, rope jump and toys. Leashed pups are also permitted in the tap room where they can order items off the dog menu like a pup cup, a dog bowl filled with chicken and rice, dog treats, and Argus's Malt Licker.
Lagunitas Brewing Co.
The recognizable canine mascot of Lagunitas Brewing Co. was inspired by "Petey" from "The Little Rascals," but that’s not their only homage to the canine community. The brewery’s barrels are named after brewer’s pups who have crossed the rainbow bridge. Four-legged barflies are welcome to join you on the patio. After you order a delicious brew like a Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’, place an order for Fido from the dog menu that features favorites like a Doggone Beef Patty, Beggin’ Bacon or Grilled Chicken. Then load your pup up on gear like Lagunitas beer can toys, bandanas, water bottles, bowls and tennis balls.
