Gulf State Park Campground

Staybridge Suites Gulf Shores

Staybridge Suites Gulf Shores welcomes two pets of any size for an additional fee of $75 for stays 1 to 6 nights, and $150 for stays of 7 nights or more. Pets must be crated if left unattended in rooms. Updated vaccination records are required.

Dauphin Island Beach

Dogs on a leash are allowed on the public beach year round. The public beach near the Red School House and the old fishing pier is the largest area on Dauphin Island set aside for dogs and their owners to romp and play on the sand and in the surf. There are at least a couple of miles of beach there, and with Sand Island now connected to Dauphin Island, there is another three miles of undeveloped beach jutting out into the Gulf on that barrier island. Though dogs are allowed at Dauphin Island's primary public beach and at the Dauphin Island Campground, dogs are not allowed at the West End Beach Park on the Island's extreme west end.

Loch Haven Dog Park

Loch Haven is a one-of-a-kind park in the city of Hoover featuring an off-leash fenced area for dogs and their owners. The dog park is divided into two separate areas; one side for dogs up to 35 lbs and the other for larger dogs. The Park features include a canine obstacle course, .4 mile walking track, and a covered picnic pavilion with a large recreation field.

Moss Rock Preserve

Moss Rock Preserve is a beautiful 250 acre nature preserve abundant with trees and plants, rock outcroppings, streams, waterfalls, wildlife and other unique natural features. There are nearly 10 miles of hiking footpaths within Moss Rock Preserve, as well as "Boulder Field" which is a favorite among rock climbers. Dogs are allowed throughout the park; they must be on no more than a 6 foot leash and under their owner's control at all times.

Audubon Bird Sanctuary

Leashed dogs are allowed on the trails at Audubon Bird Sanctuary. The dog-friendly Sanctuary consists of 137 acres with three miles of trails among the maritime forest, marshes, and dunes, a lake, a swamp, and a beach. It is located at the Eastern end of Dauphin Island, a 14 mile-long barrier island situated off the Alabama Gulf Coast.

The Market at Pepper Place

Leashed dogs of all sizes are welcome at this market featuring local fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and other edibles along with items from local artisans.

Ave Maria Grotto

Bring Fido to this dog friendly, four-acre park, known as "Jerusalem in Miniature," that is home to 125 miniature reproductions of famous historic buildings and shrines of the world. These sculptures are the lifetime work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey. It's a peaceful sanctuary in a natural setting.
