Pet Friendly Tanner Park in Salt Lake City, UT
Tanner Park is not an official dog park, but leashed dogs are allowed on the park's many trails (and you do see pups off-leash as well). The park goes down in a gully, and at the bottom there is a bridge where many folks let their dogs off leash to play in the creek. The current is strong, so please use caution. This is not your typical fenced in dog park. It is like hiking in the wilderness. There are no bathrooms or watering areas so be sure to bring your own. There are a number of bag and waste stations. Please be aware that the hike back up and out is not easy if you are not in good shape. The road is dirt & rock.
Pet Friendly Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, UT
Sand Hollow State Park is pet-friendly. The water is perfect temperature for a dip during summer. The beach is pet-friendly throughout and there are trails to explore with your pooch, too. The park is open every day of the week from 7am to 9pm.
Pet Friendly Dimple Dell Nature Park in Sandy, UT
Dimple Dell is a natural ravine that runs from Sandy, Utah and heads almost due east up into the mountains. There are numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails that crisscross the ravine. In early spring and into early summer there is a river that runs at the bottom. The water can run very fast and be extremely cold. You must keep your dogs leashed at all times, but many locals disregard this ordinance and pay hefty fines when they get caught. The trails are not difficult once you have descended into (and out of) the ravine. The trails are well maintained and there is quite a bit of natural wildlife. You must bring in your own waste bags and carry them out as well. Lots of shade in summer.
Pet Friendly Zion Adventure Company in Springdale, UT
Zion Adventure Company no longer offers any dog-friendly tours; however, dogs are welcome in the store.
Pet Friendly Sip, Snack, Stroll Salt Lake City in Salt Lake City, UT
'Sip, Snack, Stroll Salt Lake City' is a pet-friendly Airbnb Experience hosted by Kate. This experience welcomes dogs depending on the time of year, so be sure to contact the host prior to booking if you want to bring Fido along. Also, be prepared for someone in your party to wait outside any venues that may not allow dogs inside. This walking tour explores downtown Salt Lake where your guide will show you the best coffee shops, cafes and hotspots. Visit famous sites including Temple Square, Gallivan Plaza, Library Square and more. The experience lasts 4 hours and can accommodate up to 6 guests ages 10 and up. Rates start at $35 per person.
