Activities

Get out and play! There are 83 dog friendly activities in Utah. You'll find information on our favorite dog parks, beaches, hiking trails, tours, stores, and lots of other "animal attractions" below.

Tanner Park

Tanner Park is not an official dog park, but leashed dogs are allowed on the park's many trails (and you do see pups off-leash as well). The park goes down in a gully, and at the bottom there is a bridge where many folks let their dogs off leash to play in the creek. The current is strong, so please use caution. This is not your typical fenced in dog park. It is like hiking in the wilderness. There are no bathrooms or watering areas so be sure to bring your own. There are a number of bag and waste stations. Please be aware that the hike back up and out is not easy if you are not in good shape. The road is dirt & rock.

Dimple Dell Nature Park

Dimple Dell is a natural ravine that runs from Sandy, Utah and heads almost due east up into the mountains. There are numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails that crisscross the ravine. In early spring and into early summer there is a river that runs at the bottom. The water can run very fast and be extremely cold. You must keep your dogs leashed at all times, but many locals disregard this ordinance and pay hefty fines when they get caught. The trails are not difficult once you have descended into (and out of) the ravine. The trails are well maintained and there is quite a bit of natural wildlife. You must bring in your own waste bags and carry them out as well. Lots of shade in summer.

Zion-Mount Carmel Highway

Take in the beauty of Zion National Park from the comfort of your car on the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. You and Fido can enjoy the stunning landscapes and wildlife viewing on the road before stretching your legs on the Pa'rus Trail.

Zion Adventure Company

Zion Adventure Company no longer offers any dog-friendly tours; however, dogs are welcome in the store.
