NOTE: DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG TO THE OPEN HOUSE. There will be dogs present from some 20 breed rescue/ shelter groups. Visit the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine OPEN HOUSE from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., March 29 for a once-a-year, behind the scenes tour of one of the nation’s top-ranked veterinary programs (#3 on U.S. News & World Report survey). The popular event offers opportunities to get up close with various animals large and small and more than 50 demonstrations, displays, exhibits, and presentations that explain advances in veterinary medicine, veterinary medical technology, learnings from recent research, best care practices for the family pet, what it takes to become a veterinarian, and the connection between human, animal, and environmental health. A special attraction this year is the special Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibit, "Animal Connections: Our Journey Together." The College of Veterinary Medicine is located on William Moore Drive near the intersection of Hillsborough St. and Blue Ridge Rd. by the state fairgrounds in Raleigh.
