Looper Dog

Sparky, my awesome dog, at 12-1/2 years, embarked with us on a 5,000 mile journey -- The Great Loop -- onboard a 38 foot trawler. Our travels took us down the rivers through the center of the US, from Chicago to Mobile, across the Gulf of Mexico, through Florida and Lake Okeechobee, up the east coast of the US via the Intercoastal Waterway, up the Hudson River, through the canal systems (Erie and Oswego), across Lake Ontario and through Canada, the Trent-Severn Waterway, Georgian Bay, the North Channel, and finally down the east coast of Lake Michigan, back to Chicago. Sparky charmed everyone along the way and made many friends, both dog and human. (The Bring Fido app was invaluable, as you can imagine! Thank you!) Here he is at a marina in Alabama. After a year on the waterways, we returned to stay in Chicago for a year, during which time, my awesome best friend passed away at the age of 14 years and 2 months on January 30, 2019. I miss my Sparky every day.
