Molly injury & Surgery
In early January 202 I was walking Molly off the leash and she saw Cat and started to chase it. She rounded a corner and slipped and tore her ACL. She limped back or I should say I caught up to her and she was limping for about a week.
After that time and there was no improvement, I made an appointment to the vet and that took 10 days to get the appointment.
The vet told me that she had torn her ACL, or thought she had torn her ACL. She was scheduled for surgery last week on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
The vet called and said Molly was out of surgery but the vet saw something that she has never seen before.
AND SHE DOES THESE SURGERIES A LOT...
When the vet said that everything went weird and I couldn’t hear everything that she was saying so I’m trying to remember
The vet said that it appeared to be some dark substance near the wound that the vet removed
The vet said that it appeared that it might have been damaged before this
The vet said that Molly’s Meniscus was also torn and needed to be “somethinged “. Fixed or snipped or cleaned or something
The vet suggested that this “dark matter” should be sent out to see if it is Cancer. So if it is “we can get in front of it” whatever that means
I told the Vet to go ahead and get the dark matter biopsied
Molly had to stay at hospital overnight for observation
Why is it that a 1000 surgeries go fine but Molly’s
This was one week ago
I have had to give her multiple medications and keep her sedated for the last 10 days. I have slept on the floor with her, I have woken up, or I should say, she has woken me up in the middle of the night like 2 AM and 4 AM because she needed to go out.
There have been lots of sleepless nights and an incredible amount of sorrow and profound sadness over the last three weeks.
Yesterday I spoke to the vet and she said the mass was possibly old scar tissue from a previous but not obvious injury AMD WAS NOT CANCER!!
I have been housebound taking care of molly for since Thursday February 6th only leaving four times for groceries and fitness.
Today Feb 15th running out for more medication for Molly.
