Pets in the Cabin
Small dogs, cats, and household birds can be carried into the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 15 lbs (7 kg). Pets should remain inside their carrier for the duration of the journey. Each passenger can bring 1 pet per carrier, unless they have 2 puppies under 6 months, 2 kittens under 6 months, a mother and a baby pet, or a pair of birds who can travel together. Carriers must remain under the seat in front of you for the duration of the flight. The fee for this service depends on where you are traveling. The price for flights to/from Korea and Fukuoka, Weihai, Yantai, Dalian, and Qingdao is $80; to/from Korea and Japan, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong is $100; to/from Korea and Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Russian Far East, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan is $160; and to/from Korea and Europe, Oceania, and the U.S is $200. These prices apply to all animals up to 70 lbs (32 kg) in the hold as well.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Pets can travel as checked baggage with Asiana if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 99 lbs (45 kg). Animals weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) are charged the same fees as pets in the cabin. Animals weighing between 70-99 lbs (32-45 kg) on flights to/from Korea and Fukuoka, Weihai, Yantai, Dalian, and Qingdao incur a charge of $160; to/from Korea and Japan, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong incur a charge of $200; to/from Korea and Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Russian Far East, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan incur a charge of $320; and to/from Korea and Europe, Oceania, and the U.S incur a charge of $400. These prices apply to all animals up to 70 lbs (32 kg) in the hold as well.
Pets in Cargo
Animals can be transported as cargo if they don't meet the requirements to travel in the cabin or as checked baggage. Any dogs over 66 lbs (30 kg), must be transported in a strong carrier to prevent escape. For pets traveling in the cabin, the maximum combined dimensions of carriers cannot exceed 45" (115 cm). Soft carriers can be up to 10" (26 cm) in height. For pets traveling in the hold, the combined dimensions of carriers cannot exceed 112" (285 cm). The height should not exceed 33" (84 cm). Carriers should have a lock and sufficient space for animals to move freely inside.
The following dangerous dog breeds and their cross-breeds are not allowed to travel: American Staffordshire Terrier, American pit bull(Terrier), Fila Brazileiros, Japanese Tosa, Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentinos. Additionally, the transportation of short-nosed dogs as checked baggage is restricted from July 1 to September 30. The breeds of dogs that are restricted are: Pugs, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, Affenpinscher, American Bulldog, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bulldog, Bullmastiff, Cavalier King, Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, Chowchow, Cane Corso, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux, English Mastiff, English Toy Spaniel, French Bulldog, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pekingese, Presa Canario, Pug, Sharpei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel, and Valley Bulldog.
