Pets in the Cabin
Small cats and dogs are welcome to join their owners on Croatia Airlines flights. Animals and their carriers must not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). The pet will be stowed on the floor under the seat for the duration of the flight. The fee for this service on domestic flights is 150 HRK, international flights (within Europe) is 50 EUR, and international flights (outside Europe) is $100.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Pets who exceed the weight limit for the cabin can be transported in the hold instead. 3 puppies or kittens from the same litter, weighing a maximum of 17 lbs (8 kg) each, can travel together in the same carrier in the hold. Alternatively, a maximum of 2 adult animals weighing up to 30 lbs (14 kg) each, that are used to each other, can be transported in the same carrier. For medium carriers with maximum dimensions of 31" H x 21" W x 21" D (80 cm x 55 cm x 55 cm), the pet fee is 250 HRK on domestic flights; 100 EUR on international flights (within Europe); and $200 on international flights (outside Europe). For larger carriers with maximum dimensions of 49" H x 29" W x 33" D (125 cm x 75 cm x 85 cm), the pet fee is 300 HRK on domestic flights; 200 EUR on international flights (within Europe); and $400 on international flights (outside Europe).
For pets being transported in the cabin, carriers must not exceed dimensions of 45" (115 cm). You should also make sure that soft carriers are water-resistant on the bottom. Soft carriers are stored underneath the seat in front of you for the duration of the journey. For pets being transported in the hold, medium carriers should not exceed 31" x 21" x 21" (80 cm x 55 cm x 55 cm) and larger carriers should not exceed 49" x 29" x 33" (125 cm x 75 cm x 85 cm). Fido should be able to stand up and move around the carrier comfortably. The bottom should be covered with absorbent material, food and water bowls should be connected to the inside of the carrier, and there should be proper ventilation on three sides.
Brachycepahlic animals (dogs and cats with very short noses) can not be transported in cargo holds on certain flights. They can be accepted in the passenger cabin if they meet the necessary requirements.
