Pets in the Cabin
Helvetic welcomes pets (dogs, cats, domesticated birds, etc.) to travel in the cabin on their flights if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 15 lbs (7 kg). Fido must remain on the floor during the entire flight, and must be stored under the front seat during take off and landing. The fee for pets traveling in the cabin is 80 CHF each way.
Pets in Checked Baggage
Pets that exceed the maximum weight restrictions for traveling in the cabin can be transported in the hold instead. The fee for this service is 15 CHF for every kilogram that the pet weighs.
For pets traveling in the cabin, carriers must not exceed 22" x 12" x 10" (56 cm x 32 cm x 27 cm). They must be watertight and remain closed throughout the journey. For pets traveling in the hold, medium carriers are 23.5" x 18" x 16" (60 cm x 45 cm x 40 cm) and large carriers are between 28" x 20" x 20" (71 cm x 50 cm x 51 cm) and 41" x 30" x 31" (105 cm x 75 cm x 79 cm). Carriers must contain food and water for the duration of the journey. Additionally, the carrier should be made from wood, metal, synthetic materials, welded wire mesh or standard wire mesh.
